SEO content writing is also a powerful way to position your webinar.

Virtual seminar (webinar) is powerful.

You can go anywhere you want, achieve all you ever wanted in your business if only you give back to the people who holds you in high esteem.

A lot of people will argue that they’re nobody in the blogosphere.

But that’s so untrue. I was thinking like that too until I saw the results of word of mouth marketing.

However, organizing a webinar to showcase and teach others how to do a particular thing has its limits.

Or should I say boundaries. Self altruism is never a demand in life. As you give back to people, don’t forget that your image is at stake. Not everyone is going to appreciate you for such kind gestures.

That’s why I’ve put up these five must-do tips to help every form of online meeting you organize blissful. Don’t take my word for it; you’ve better answers to the problems in your niche. This is only a guide. See it as a shoulder up above your challenges. Stand on it and see the world you ever wanted.

1. Giving Is Living

Do you see giving as a pain in the ass? Stop right there and listen to this: the person that gives has a better life than someone who doesn’t. If you want to accelerate smoothly in this troubled world, even in blogging or any form of business, you need to give back to people.

You might charge a fee for hosting an online meeting but it should not equate the value you give. What you give stays. What you receive will get exhausted one day. So, stop looking for someone to help you make it online, find a way to give to some other person because you’ve what they’re looking for. They’ll come running to you like an angry mob.

Giving pays and what way do you want to extend that lovely hand of yours – organize a webinar and use it to touch lives?

2. Weigh Your Options

Before organizing a webinar, what options do you’ve?

What options do you’ve in your life today? Let’s assume you’re a blogger and have the opportunity to create an e-book, become a go-to copywriter or sell other special skills for money. What would you go for?

All these are powerful and profitable means to an end. That means you should not accept anything throws you off-balance no matter how much monetary gain is attached to it. What is your purpose for starting an online business? Is it to make money (part of it), or to solve at least one particular problem (major reason actually)?

Weigh the options you’ve and choose the one that helps in achieving your end-goal. You might go for copywriting because of monetary rewards, but are you called to be one? Do you enjoy doing it? Think again before bringing any conclusion to the table and organizing a webinar around it.

3. Position Your Business Aright

Online meetings and webinar helps small businesses to come to limelight. But you’ve to position yourself. The major reason why marketing is paramount is because you’ll become popular even before your first webinar is live. SEO content writing is also a powerful way to position your webinar.

I’m confident that if I organize a webinar today, several people are going to honor it. I’ve been writing for several blogs and clients since 2009 and the relationship I’ve with them is enough to fill my virtual chairs.

Even with social media marketing, positioning is the right word that brings people together to discuss a particular trend without getting bored. Will your business be there when they need you most?

4. Webinar Is a means to an end

A lot of info product creators see webinars as an end to their marketing career. That is why they use marketing hype to lure greedy people into their sales page. But you don’t have to be deceived now that you’re well informed.

Organizing a webinar to grow your business is never an end; it’s not even the beginning. I think it lies in the middle. So, avoid every form of marketing that’s questionable.

The persons you invited to your webinar are humans, with blood running through their veins. They’ve decisions to make and believe me, they make quick decisions online. If you please them today, they’ll come back tomorrow and vice versa.

If you want to use an online meeting management system, you can grab free GoToMeeting.com promotion code and GoToWebinar discount code and save in every subscription you opt-in for.

5. Add Self-Control to it

This sounds religious but I’m fond of it. Self control is not just for religious enthusiasts, it’s for everyone who desires success in life. Hosting an online meeting would sometimes expose you to different business opportunities. In fact, a blogger friend of mine confessed how much he wanted to exploit her guests.

And I said to him, did you control yourself?

Thank God he did. No matter what comes to you as you do business online, you must learn to coordinate and analyze opportunities. Some opportunities are meant to destroy your reputation and mar your hard work.

I’ve seen people who started out smoothly but ended up in the waste bin. All that glitters is not gold. And even before gold is formed, it has to pass through the fire. That’s where analysis comes in.

Analyze every idea, insight and thoughts in your mind. It may sound rosy and randy, but deep down; it’s full of deadly traps. It’s like a sepulcher (marbled grave), beautiful on the outside but inside it filled with dead men’s bone.

Webinar Takeaway

I’m seriously planning to host my second webinar, but I’ve to take my time to prepare and get myself well positioned for what lies ahead. I’ve laid-out the best tips; more like precautions so you don’t drive off course.

I hope this post inspires you to take action and enhance your personal life and your business. I love you from my heart, see you at the top!

Google’s Panda update has been in affect for North American countries for over eight months now and the importance of quality backlinks

Google’s Panda update has been in affect for North American countries for over eight months now and the importance of quality backlinks (with the emphasis on quality) has never been clearer. Smart marketers are now striking deals with savvy webmasters to provide free content in exchange for one or two backlinks pointing at their site. Most often these links are in the form of anchor text.

Some folks are confused as to just what an anchor text is and how it works. If you’re asking yourself what the role of a anchor text is in SEO then bear with me because I’ll spell it out in just a bit.

But first let me share a little story.

Not everybody got the memo

I had an SEO professional call me asking if I had any ideas that would help solve a dilemma that one of his clients was experiencing. You see his client’s page had fallen from page 1 through 3 to page 30.

He couldn’t understand what was going wrong. His strategy was to create an article and then use software to submit it to 200 article directories. In theory he was creating 200 backlinks. When I asked him what anchor texts he was using he responded by saying they used the same exact anchor text in all 200 articles.

Well this one was pretty easy to explain. For starters Google looks at the quality of the site giving the backlink and if those links were all coming from obscure, low value directories they won’t be worth much.

But the bigger issue is the fact that the anchor text from all of those sites is identical. Let’s say for a moment that the text they used was “Genesis WordPress themes”. When Google sees that 200 sites linked back to the same page using the exact same anchor text they are going to smell a rat.

What are the odds that 200 webmasters all decided to link back at the site using the exact same keyword phrase? The answer is zero meaning the site is simply a source of links and not expressing a vote of confidence or referral. In short, the links coming from these farms have no value to Google and that’s what caused the huge drop in ranking.

Anchor text explained

So what is anchor text? It’s simply a keyword phrase that is hyperlinked back to a page on your site. And the keyword phrases you select to link back to a page on your site has a direct relationship to where that page ranks in the search results.

As an example…

…if you have a page that promotes premium WordPress themes and you would like to see that page ranked highly in the search results (for many keyword phrases) you will want to have many different keyword phrases linking to your page.

premium WordPress template

premium WordPress templates

free premium WordPress templates

best premium WordPress templates

So back to the example…

…you have a page on your site promoting premium WordPress themes. You have a backlink from 20 quality websites each using only one of the keyword phrases above for the anchor text — and Google would look to each of those backlinks a vote of confidence from twenty webmasters.

It gets much better. Why? Because Google will look at the individual words that were used as anchor text to determine not only what your page is about, and where it should be listed in the search results.

How many backlinks does it take to get ranked?

It’s a great question. …and there are a number of variables to take into consideration such as backlink quality and competition levels.

I can say though that I do have a basic rule of thumb that works well for mid-range competition levels which is it typically takes between 20-30 *quality* backlinks before you will see a page in the the top 10 rankings.

How long does it take?

It’s been my experience that you’re probably looking at 4 to 8 weeks before you see significant movement in the rankings. And that’s 4 to 8 weeks after the 20-30 backlinks have been established. The key here is not to wait until you see the results, keep plugging building links. If you run out of ideas on variants, use the Google keyword tool to see similar phrases to your targeted keyword and start doing variants on one or two of those.

Getting anchor text on quality sites takes some work and is much more time consuming than submitting links by software but the rewards are well worth the investment in time.

Google search results. Perturbed? Well of course you are, but did you know there are number of things which you could have done to get your site eliminated from the Google search results?

So you have been working away on your beloved site for a long time and you still can’t see it in any Google search results. Perturbed? Well of course you are, but did you know there are number of things which you could have done to get your site eliminated from the Google search results?

Any SEO expert worth their salt will know these points, but for those who are not too well versed in the ways of Google then I would recommend reading through the tips below. There’s no point wasting blood, sweat and tears working on a website that no one is ever going to see! I am listing just ten of the main points here, but the bottom line is, if you adhere to good practices then there shouldn’t be any problem.

Duplicate content:

Okay, so you have been building your own site, and don’t fancy your skills much as a copywriter. What have you done? Gone and copied the text from another site? BIG no no, Google sees your site as fraudulent and is punishing you in the most effective way possible. NEVER use duplicate content in a site, you stand a good chance of getting your site banned and possibly getting the poor unsuspecting original authors site banned too.

Keyword cramming:

Someone once told you that keyword recognition was a huge part of SEO, and let me tell you they were right. However if you have done nothing but cram keywords into the text on your site, then you might aswell just shut it down. The recommended keyword density is between 1.5% and 2.5%, anything significantly above this will trigger alarm bells at Google and they will be quick to let you know. Plus, think of your readers, they want to read something that is legible, interesting and informative otherwise they won’t return.

Dirty links:

Dirty links are links to or from your site that are associated with gambling, pornagraphy, hate and racism etc. Whilst Google has always rewarded sites for the number of backlinks it has, it will do the opposite for links than are ill reputed or promote illegal or untasteful behaviour. Keep your links clean and reputable at all times.

Link farming:

I’m sure you have heard of the term link farming, this was seen a number of years ago as one of the best ways to build huge link numbers to your site. No more. Keep away from those who offer you thousands of links for your site, essentially all they do is spam and Google hates a spammer. Stay away from paid links of any kind.

Hidden links:

While not overly common anymore, there are still quite a few people who practice this. Hidden links are basically links on your site which are not visible to the reader but are searchable by engines like Google. There are many ways to do these hidden or cloaked links, the most common using white text on a white background. You may think that because they are hidden they will do your site more good than harm, but rest assured Google has it tracked.

The above 5 would be the main areas to avoid like the plaque, however I would also recommend staying away from:

Meta tag stuffing.

Alt image spamming.

Avoid sneaky redirects.

Title tag stuffing.

Don’t get bots or programs to spin your content…. Originality is the key to success.

All in all, best practices are the order of the day here. If you have found yourself banned by Google there may be a way back, but you will have to prove that none of the banning points were intentional or done by you. My advice would be to count your losses and start again. Though this time do it by the book.

SEO or search engine optimization is an important exercise for all bloggers who wish to expand the reach and influence of their blog posts. Leading search engines such as Google encourage webmasters and bloggers to use legitimate SEO techniques so that the readers can reach the most relevant and useful sites and blogs.

SEO Value of Images

Images are a key part of any good SEO strategy to promote a blog. Search engine algorithms use certain criteria to evaluate the worth of a blog or website, and attach differentiated weight to each factor. The page rankings of any website or blog on a search engine are determined on that basis.

Search engines have traditionally considered images as an important factor in deciding the worth of a blog or website. Images help to enhance the quality of content and deliver a superior or enriched experience to the readers. Therefore, blog posts with good quality images are likely to be ranked higher on search engines compared to blogs that are devoid of any images.

Quality of Images

Merely uploading images along with the blog post is not sufficient to achieve the best SEO results. Search engines consider the image quality and resolution, as well as the originality and authenticity of images. The most important consideration is that the image must be relevant and useful to the content. Dumping the blog post with irrelevant or disconnected images will eventually drive away readers and bring down the page rankings of the blog.

Images must not be offensive because the Internet is a public place, and certain public norms and conventions must be observed. Image quality, resolution and other physical aspects of the image are also important to determine its overall SEO value. If the images are posted in an outdated format, or are so heavy that visitors have difficulty in downloading the page, it can discourage the readers from visiting the blog.

Copyright

One of the most important things for every blogger to understand is that the images used for a blog post must be free of copyright protection. If it is important to use copyrighted images, the blogger must seek due permission from the owner of the image, or pay its cost to reproduce the image on his or her blog.

Violating image copyrights can land a blogger in potential legal trouble. At the same time, such violations can also bring down the page rankings of the blog on leading search engines, and may even lead to blacklisting of the blog (being tossed into virtual purgatory is about as bad as it gets). A number of reliable online image libraries are available today that provide free as well as paid images for bloggers. Using such authentic sources, like Wikimedia commons or iStock Photo, can keep bloggers free of the risk of copyright violation and golden in the eyes of those same search engines. Even if you have to pay for high-quality images to use in your posts, you can find discounts and coupons to help lower these costs.

It may be our game to lose but we are playing by the search engine’s rules.

Are you looking for some social media tips to grow your small business? We asked eight small business pros for their hottest social media tips. Here’s their advice for you to take your business to the next level.

#1: Show Them the “Real You”

Use Facebook to show prospects, clients and customers the “real you.” Sure, provide the occasional business tip. Or link to your new blog post. But that’s what everyone else is doing. So why not show them you’re a real person by posting updates about things you’re passionate about?

I love to cook, so I’ve been known to post pictures of my grilled masterpieces. Or I’ll quote something one of my silly kids just said. Or I’ll pose a question, such as “How can we encourage more young entrepreneurs?” Either way, I try to keep it interesting, humorous and different. And always authentic.

Oh, and I know I’m going to ruffle a lot of feathers by saying this, but I really do believe that less is more. I get more engagement by updating five times per week than five times per day. Plus it fits my personality. Because offline, I would never call attention to myself that frequently.

#2: Pick One Thing and Do It Really Well

Small businesses are faced with having to prioritize their resources toward the activities that deliver the most impact. With social media, it’s easy to feel like you need to have a presence on every social media channel. It’s also easy to get lost in managing too many networks.

Being on 5 social networks and giving all of them half-effort will not generate results. Therefore, I recommend that small businesses first find which network has the highest concentration of their audience using tools like Follower Wonk, Facebook’s free advertising platform and LinkedIn’s search features.

Once you’ve found which social media network actually has a concentration of your target audience, develop a strategy to engage them. Rather than spreading your energy across multiple channels, put 100% of your “social focus” on the best channel for your audience and do it exceptionally well. If you’re successful, you’ll have a much easier time justifying the additional investment to replicate your success on another social media network.

#3: Turn Your Facebook Page Into a Lead-Generating Machine

One necessary component of a thriving business is a strong list of qualified leads. Collecting names and emails is essential to any small business because you can communicate with your ideal audience on a regular basis. Some business experts say that without a list, you don’t really have a business!

There are many ways to grow your list and one of the smartest marketing moves is to create an opt-in strategy on your Facebook page. To keep it simple, use iFrames to create a custom welcome tab. On this tab you can create a 2-step process called a “reveal tab.”

Step #1: Include a call to action to encourage non-fans to click Like and become a fan.

Step #2: Once you get the Like, offer a valuable giveaway in exchange for name and email.

With this model, you are increasing your fan base and growing your lead list at the same time. It’s a double whammy for your business.

#4: Invest in a Great Twitter Design

If your business or brand is geared toward a particular niche market, make sure that you go all out when designing your Twitter profile. For an example, see @HungerGamesPod. Make sure that it shows how serious you are about your niche and that by looking at your profile, people will see valuable content that they could get if they were following you on Twitter.

Next, go find other Twitter IDs that market to your exact niche market. For my Hunger Games brand, I did this with @TheHungerGames, which has over 76,000 followers. These 76,000 people are obviously interested in The Hunger Games niche and therefore might find my podcast on the subject interesting and want to follow.

Go through and follow that account’s followers. Most will get an email notification from Twitter, because they never turned off email notifications, telling them that you just followed them. Many will click through to your Twitter profile, check it out and if they’re interested, they’ll follow you back.

This is how I added over 4,000 followers to my Hunger Games Twitter account in less than a month.

#5: Bring Your Company Onto Video

Without question, the hottest and most effective use of social media today is VIDEO. With all the recent changes in how Google and other search engines index web pages, adding short videos is the #1 way to get into the top of search results.

Creating a custom channel on YouTube is very easy. Creating a series of short instructional videos around your product or service and using testimonials from happy clients/customers are great ways to add credibility to your company and dramatically increase the chances of a viewer going to your website.

Use humor and graphics to get your key messages across. Remember, shorter is better—no more than 3 minutes.

#6: Learn How to Master Video Marketing

My hottest tip for small businesses to take their business to the next level is to learn how video content—when tagged, titled and published correctly—can increase your exposure in search results.

Video thumbnails in search results attract the eye more than text and can get your content seen over traditional text delivery. Plus, video can really highlight your company’s personality!

#7: Monitor Your Clients and Prospects

Create alerts for all of your important clients, add their blogs to your RSS reader, create a Twitter List and add it to a tool like TweetDeck. Explore whether your CRM tool allows you to add the social connections for your clients (BatchBook, Highrise or ACT!all have this function and the Rapporative plugin for Gmail can do this as well).

Monitor what your clients and prospects are doing and saying in social networks to anticipate and serve their needs and build relationships much faster. Next you can do the same with key journalists and strategic partners.

This step alone will make your social media efforts pay off immediately.

#8: Give Away the Secret Sauce

In other words, start developing content about those industry secrets or how-to tips that no other competitor of yours would dare touch. This can be your competitive advantage. By creating the kind of content that really solves your customers’ problems, you’ll be linked to and shared. Your content will rise in the search rankings and be actively shared on Twitter and Facebook.

How do you get started? Write down all of the most interesting and hard-to-answer customer questions and create online content from each question.

Do this every day for six months and you’ll see a significant difference in your business.

Review of Google New Interface with Left Panel

I woke up today to a surprise. Google.com has upgraded its interface. So has YouTube. Is there a conspiracy of sort for the Big Boys” to change their interface simultaneously this week? With the left panel, it is VERY EASY for anyone to search for anything. Just point, click and then key in your research query.

You have the +You, search, Images, Maps, Gmail, Documents, Calendar and More which when you point to it will open up another sub-category of Translate, Books and Reader. Have fun!

Google New Interface with Left Panel

If you are doing internet marketing, this new interface will be very easy for you to search what you want. Also, it also means it saves you tonnes of time to click here and there to locate the buttons. You need not download the button onto your toolbar so as not to clutter your screen and make your screen view smaller if you have more rows of toolbar.

If you are like me who runs several different websites at the same time and uses several different software to run the website, then you will be up to your eyeballs with PASSWORDS. I for one do not believe in having one passwords for all the websites just like we must not use one password no for all different banking account.

Splashdata.com recently compiled a list of passwords that are very common. If you see your passwords, please immediately go change them before you forget.

1. password

2. 123456

3.12345678

4. qwerty

5. abc123

6. monkey

7. 1234567

8. letmein

9. trustno1

10. dragon

11. baseball

12. 111111

13. iloveyou

14. master

15. sunshine

16. ashley

17. bailey

18. passw0rd

19. shadow

20. 123123

21. 654321

22. superman

23. qazwsx

24. michael

25. football

So your question now should be what is the best passwords that you should have? Is a password comprising of your cat’s name, dog’s name, or birth date a good choice? In my opinion, you can do a combination of your pet’s name, with your car plate no or house no or even house telephone no.

Your passwords should be at least 8 characters. It should contain upper case, lowercase, numbers, symbols and all mixed together so that it is difficult for others to guess your passwords and steal your data. Now do go ahead and change your passwords before someone else gets to it. I was informed recently that there is a software in the market right now that is able to trace a person’s passwords.

There are also many emails that we receive regularly asking us to update our bank data with the required passwords of ours. Do not be taken in by such emails as they are all out to steal your data and your money.

Now with so many passwords to remember, how are we going to remember them? The answer is simple. Just take out a blank sheet of paper. Write down all the password details and keep them saved away in your drawer. For those passwords that we use regularly, just write it down on a small piece of paper and tuck it away in your purse or wallet. You can refer to it as and when. However, do not be too specific in the information in the small pieces of paper in case we get pick pocketed and there goes our passwords.

From now onwards, I urge you that each time you create a new passwords, do have a piece of paper in hand to write it down so that even if your passwords is stolen, you can still go in and change the passwords compared to if your computer is stolen, and if all your passwords is saved inside your computer, then there goes your passwords for good. Some websites provider are very strict, even if you are the owner of the website or their member, they will ask you many questions before they release the log in ID to you if you cannot confirm that you are the log in owner even if you have genuinely forgotten your log in details.

Temperatures in the city of Lulea, in northern Sweden, make it the perfect location for the social media giant’s first non-US data centre.

It means it can use outside air for cooling its servers for up to 10 months of the year.

The facility will process data from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It will cover 30,000 square metres.

That is the equivalent of around 11 football pitches.

The social network needs to ramp up its computing power as it continues to grow. It currently has more than 800 million users.

The mayor of Lulea is very happy to have Facebook in his city

Up until 2009 Facebook leased space in data centres but then made the decision to design and build its own.

The new centre will be powered primarily by renewable energy and will require 70% less generator power.

It will also benefit from Lulea’s electricity prices which are some of the cheapest in Europe.

Gaining a global brand like Facebook will be a big coup for the city and it hopes others will follow.

More companies are placing their data centres in Northern Europe because the climate works well for the cooling systems necessitated by racks of huge servers.

Facebook prides itself on the fact that its engineers have built its infrastructure from scratch – including the design of the servers themselves.

“Assembling the servers is like building a Lego model, the parts snap together. The servers slot in and out of their racks by flipping a couple of catches,” the firm explained.

The design of the fans mean they consume far less energy than a traditional server, it added.
